The First Coast Ham Jam began in 1988 and has grown to become one of North Florida’s best family-attended events. It is Florida’s official Pork BBQ Cooking Contest, as proclaimed by Florida State Legislature, and is “Memphis in May” sanctioned. The winner of the contest represents the state of Florida at the “Memphis In May World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest” in Memphis, Tenn.

Along with the barbeque contest, the Ham Jam has been a favorite local event to enjoy such country artist in the past Tanya Tucker, Loretta Lynn, Neal McCoy and even Tim McGraw.

In 2007, as always, Ham Jam will include a variety of activities for the whole family to enjoy. One day’s admission to the festival will include complimentary access to:

Barbecue Cooking Contest: Catagories including Ribs, Whole Hog and Pork Shoulder

Carnival: The Ham Jam carnival will include several rides, games of “skill” to win prizes and a full complement of carnival food concessions.

Arts and crafts exhibits: Arts and crafts will be displayed and sold.
